Here we go - straight from the horses mouth (uh... website) Waving Alien takes a look at the democratic candidates and where they stand. Let's start with taxes.TAXES

Wesley Clark

  1. Close corporate loopholes that give companies tax breaks for moving their headquarters and revenue overseas, repeal Bush's tax cuts.
  2. Provide $ 33 billion annually in tax relief for working families- paid for by a 5 percentage point increase in the tax rate only on income over $ 1 million per year
  3. Married couples with two children making $50,000. would get a $1,583.00 tax break.
  4. Married couple wth three children both earning the minimum wage, or $21,000.00 annually would get a $2, 287.00 tax break.
  5. Married couple with 2 children making $85,000.00 would get a $975.00 tax break.
  6. Single mother raising one child on $30,000.00 a year would get a $793.00 tax break.
  7. 31 million working families - typical tax relief - $1,477.00

Howard Dean

  1. Repeal the Bush tax cuts and return the tax code to rates that were in effect during the Clinton-Gore Administration.
  2. Crack down on unfair tax subsidies, shelters and loopholes.
  3. Impose hefty fines and ban practice before government agencies by lawyers and accountants who certify abusive tax shelters.
  4. Provide the Internal Revenue Service with the funds it needs to do their job.
  5. Greater tax fairness for middle class working families.

John Edwards

  1. Offer a matching tax credit of up to $5,000.00 to those who need it for a down payment on a house.
  2. Cut capital gains taxes for 95% of Americans by creating a $1,000.00 exclusion from capital gains taxes and a $500.00 dividend exclusion.
  3. Lower long term capital gains for middle class families.
  4. Match $1.00 in private savings with a $1.00 refundable tax credit for savings up to a$1,000.00 for Americans with incomes up to $50,000.00.
  5. Repeal Bush's tax cuts and retain taxes on large estates.

John Kerry

  1. Repeal Bush tax cuts for wealtiest Americans but keep middle class tax cuts.
  2. New tax breaks on health care and college tuition.

If any of the candidates seem a little "light" on some of the issues -
